Giving Tuesday
On Giving Tuesday, we give back.
Giving Tuesday is so much more than just a day out of the year— we believe in always going further. This year, we wanted to take Giving Tuesday out into our community and make a difference through real human care and connection.
We were inspired by our community, and the homelessness crisis in Los Angeles is something we feel passionately about. Did you know that Underwear is the most requested, yet least donated item to homeless shelters? This struck a chord with us, we know nothing feels better than being clean and comfortable.
We wanted to truly bring an experience of comfort to the residents of Skid Row, so we partnered with Lava Mae, a nonprofit that delivers mobile showers to those in need. Lava Mae believes in “Radical Hospitality” and aims to transform the way we give care to our houseless neighbors. They believe opportunity unfolds when we provide people with dignity and the care they deserve. We’re really proud to have worked with them.
Our Giving Tuesday journey began at MeUndies HQ on November 1st. The whole team got together to help create hygiene kits for our MeUndies X Lava Mae experience on Skid Row.
On November 8th, Lava Mae and the MeUndies team hosted an event on Skid Row, giving the residents an opportunity to have a shower. We believe that feeling comfortable and clean is a basic human right, so we passed out Undies, Socks, and our hand-made hygiene kits.
This day was such an incredible experience for our team—getting out into the community for Giving Tuesday was inspiring. Getting to know those around you, and feeling the impact you have on one another is powerful.
