How to Keep Your Clothes Fresh During Travel
If you’re planning on traveling this summer, you might be wondering how you’re going to wear something clean every day of your trip.
You either have to transform into some sort of packing wizard who has a prophetic ability to sense exactly what you might need, or you have to roll the dice and risk it all.
But what if it wasn’t that way? What if you learned some packing tips and also learned about what to do with your dirty laundry while traveling? That could change everything.
And it will. Let’s get started!
Limiting The Amount Of Clothing You Pack
Take that stack of vintage tees you’re planning on bringing and whittle it in half. You don’t need that many tees! No human being does. Plus, tees are super easy to wash on the go. We’ll get to that later.
In general, try to bring only your essentials and leave the rest at home. Bring solid colors, like black, navy, and white, so you can easily mix and match your pieces or rewear things as you need. Nobody will know.
Don’t forget one or two statement pieces to wear for special outings, though. It’s always worth it.
Pick The Best Travel Fabrics
In order to stay happy throughout the stress of traveling, make sure you choose clothes with fabrics that are breathable and comfortable. Nothing is worse than lugging around your suitcase while squirming in restrictive or scratchy fabrics.
Our signature MicroModal fabric is breathable, stretchy, and extremely soft. Like, it might be the softest thing your skin has ever touched.
It makes our Loungewear perfect for long flights or car rides, our Socks (in every style) ideal for walking around new cities, and our Undies the #1 choice for travelers who love to be cradled in softness from sunrise to sunset.
Invest In New Pairs Of Travel Underwear
Certain underwear is better for travel than others. Of course, you know yourself and your needs best, so if you absolutely cannot live without your long johns, please bring them.
We’d recommend bringing undies that don’t have a ton of fabric so that they can fit more easily in your suitcase or duffel. Our Bikini Undies, for example, would be a great packable option. Same thing for our Brief Undies or Jockstraps.
Our Breathe Undies and Bralettes are made from our most lightweight fabric, making it extremely suitable for rolling up and throwing in your suitcase. Plus, when it comes to washing, this fabric is anti-odor and quick-drying, so you’ll stay fresher longer.
How Do You Wash Clothes When Traveling?
To quote Rihanna, “Baby, this is what you came for.” Even if you don’t have access to a washer/drier, there are still ways to keep your clothes clean and smelling good.
Separate Worn Clothes From Fresh Ones With Packing Cubes
Keep your clean clothes clean by putting your used clothing in a separate packing cube. That way, your clothes won’t mingle and you can easily identify what you’ve worn and what you haven’t.
Use Hotel Services
Some hotels and resorts do provide laundry services. Call the front desk and inquire, you might just get lucky!
Hand Wash Items
Laundry tips! If you want to learn how to wash clothes without a washer, take a look down at your hands. Those things are all you need for your clothes to go from dirty to sparkling clean.
Your hotel or rental property will probably have a sink in the bathroom, so fill that sink (or bathtub if you have one) up with warm water. Add some detergent and gently add your dirty garments to the sink. Work the clothing with your hands to ensure the detergent is making its way into the fabric. Once you’re satisfied with the amount of cleaning, drain the sink and rinse the clothes out with fresh water. Hang your clothes on towel racks and/or doorknobs and voila! You’ve washed your clothes!
Useful Products
If you’re committed to clean clothes during travel, consider the following investments:
Portable Wash Bag
Make your life easier and pick up a travel laundry bag. You can use it to store your dirty clothes in your suitcase, or you can use it to bring your laundry to a laundromat or front desk.
Laundry Soap Sheets
When it comes to travel, laundry detergent should be on your list even if you don’t think you’ll need it. Stains happen and it’s best to be prepared.
Now that you know how to stay stylish and clean throughout your travels, where are you going? Is there room for us to come? We’re really fun to travel with and have no dietary restrictions to worry about. Just think about it, okay?
