Okay, so aside from the fact that wearing your underwear in public is kind of generally unwelcome, let’s run down why it’s best to just leave those Undies behind when it comes to your next pool or beach day:
Underwear Material: Not Meant for Pools
There’s a big difference between swimwear and underwear. Swimwear is made for a purpose: Swimming.
That’s why it’s made from different materials than the materials we use to make our super-soft Undies (and Bralettes). It’s sturdier, less porous, and will feel lighter in the water compared to swimming in underwear.
Underwear Will Be Ruined by the Chemicals in the Swimming Pool
Undies aren’t meant to be worn in a pool, so they’re not going to react to the pool very well. If you wear underwear into the pool, expect to see damage to the color/print and to the actual fibers, meaning more fraying and a worse fit.
Swimming in the salty ocean will do the same, btw. Overall, just avoid it if you like Undies that fit well and look nice.
Underwear Will Absorb Water, Making It Harder to Swim or Dry
