Together We Pride

pride-cover.jpg

At our very core, MeUndies exists to fuel authentic self-expression. We encourage everyone, from every walk of life, to show their true, authentic self. That’s why celebrating Pride is true to our roots as a brand; and this month, it’s especially important. Now more than ever, it’s critical that we recognize and remember the intersectionality between Pride and the racial injustices that we continue to endure today. Additionally, it’s crucial that we take action for change, and support those enduring any injustice—whether racial or social. For that reason, we’re excited for two things: our partnership with the It Gets Better Project through MeUndies Gives, our cause marketing platform, and to introduce you to the incredible members of our LGBTQ+ community who are helping us celebrate Pride 2020.

MeUndies Gives X It Gets Better Project

We launched MeUndies Gives as a direct avenue to empower self-expression. Far too many individuals feel pressured to comply with societal norms causing the light within them to slowly dim, but we believe if everyone was their authentic self, the world would be a much better place. MeUndies Gives is on a mission to fight conformity and promote acceptance and change, and we’re doing so by partnering with organizations that help lift systemic barriers through open conversations and creativity.

This year, we’re proud partners of the It Gets Better Project, which works to uplift, empower, and connect lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer youth around the globe. They, like us, are committed to standing up against hate and intolerance and creating a world where hope outshines fear for all people. Specifically, they’ve created a platform and safe space to share stories from LGBTQ+ community members who have overcome adversity and now lead happy and fulfilling lives.

We’re taking action to achieve our mission of creating a more thoughtful, accepting world by supporting the It Gets Better Project through a monetary donation that’s not tied to sales. We believe it’s our responsibility as a brand to help our partners, particularly in challenging times like these, not tie it to a marketing strategy. If you’d like to help, simply shop MeUndies (and a huge thank you, as always, for doing so).

“It's taken me a long time to learn how to accept all of my imperfections. And I can say today I look in the mirror and I see someone that I'm really proud of. When I look in the mirror, I see a man that has integrity, I see a man that showcases vulnerability, and I see a man who's tenacious, immensely talented, and hard working.”

“One of the things that makes me proud to be me is remembering where I come from. I remember my upbringing, what my parents taught me, and my cultural influences, as well as my chosen family and the LGBT community that gives me constant love, support, and strength.”

“My Pride journey has gotten better by finding my chosen family: my family from scratch. The weirdos, queers, and outcasts who have become my support system. Here’s to finding a support system that is there to cheer you on and hold you accountable.”

“For so many years, I felt embarrassed in my own skin. I hated everything about me from my unibrow to my hairy back to being a nerd, and now, I've learned to love myself and that's something I'm so very proud of. I'm proud to be me because I'm a hairy, sassy, nerd.”

“We are proud to be lesbian, proud to be together, and proud to be visible. We are proud to be an example of a loving and healthy relationship, and we are proud to be part of a community that represents and celebrates love!”

“I am proud of myself today, more than ever before, because I have a non-profit animal rescue called MaeDay Rescue, and I started a pet supply store which supports the rescue called MaeDay Outpost. And, I got to marry the love of my life; we’ve been married for four years and together for 11. All of these things have helped me along on my Pride journey.”

“My Pride journey has gotten better in many different ways. Coming out is a process, but it gets easier every time. Being able to hold your partner’s hand is the best feeling. Being out and proud has connected me to an amazing community. I am so proud to be gay.”

“What makes me proud to be me is the acceptance and courage I have developed to allow my masculine and feminine sides to be equally expressed, which has allowed me to live authentically and happily! I will not dull my shine for anyone, and I know my power lies in living as unapologetically as possible. Now is the time to be bold and live to the fullest! As Cinderella once said, ‘Have courage and be kind.”

Stay tuned for newest print, Color Scale, launching this week. It’s the perfect way to show your truest colors. Happy Pride!
